I have been going to bed early lately, usually by midnight. Now I’m trying to make time for writing blog posts, but when I wake up I still have to get up and get ready for work. The problem is that, as a busy mother of 3, I have not been able to get to bed early enough.

You know, one of the biggest problems with having kids is the lack of sleep. As a result, our bodies and brains need to work overtime to keep us feeling tired, so we do a lot of things like eating right, drinking right, exercising, and sleeping well. As a result, we go to bed about 2.5 hours too late, which doesn’t sound like much, but when you put it all together, that’s a lot of sleep you get.

To get into a better frame of mind in the morning is key for us. This is partly because we have to wake up early to be able to get everything done, and it also makes it all the more important to get up earlier than we need to. One of the most important things to remember when it comes to sleep is that it does not exist on a 24-hour clock.

We tend to wake up, not only at the same time each morning, but about 2.5 hours later than we should. The reason is that our brains are awake for at least 4 hours before sleep. If you were to keep an eye on your sleep cycle you would see that it lasts about a 30 minute stretch before falling asleep.

It’s like the difference between watching a movie and reading a book. The only difference between being awake and being asleep is that a movie is being watched. Reading a story is listening to a voice on the page and then going to bed. And yes, I know that this is a completely absurd analogy, but I feel like it explains a lot. Of course, as with all these things, our bodies are waking and sleeping on a 24-hour clock.

The reason this happens is because we have a circadian rhythm. Our bodies are like clocks, but we don’t control them. We’re able to control our behavior and react, but our bodies are only reacting to a limited number of cues.

The time-loop metaphor is a good one, because it’s very obvious to anyone who’s actually paying attention that we aren’t just in a time loop, we are actually in a time loop that is itself.

Deathloop does an ok job of showing us why we shouldn’t be so stupid. We all know that we are going to eat something, then we are going to drink something, then we are going to sleep, then we are going to move, then we are going to think about what we are going to do. It takes us about 3 minutes to realize that we are in a loop. It also happens that the first time we do something is the hardest and the second is the easiest.

It’s all because of the way our minds are programmed to perceive time. Because of this we tend to perceive one thing as happening before the other and we have to make a decision for ourselves as to which comes first, so we all make the same mistake.

To stop being in a loop we have to be willing to look at the past, as well as the future. In order to stop we have to know what we are doing, and what we are doing in the right way. If you have ever had a friend tell you about a past event that happened and then ask you if you remember anything about it, you know that it is easy to say no, but it is difficult to say yes.
